Job Duties:

Support workers are required to work within the mission and values of AI and the aims and objectives of the service.
Support workers should promote service user independence by providing service users with support, advice and assistance when necessary.
They should be sensitive and responsive and will consult and involve service users in all areas relating to their individual lives.
The privacy, confidentiality, rights and responsibilities of the service users will be upheld at all times.
Support workers are required to work within AI polices, practices and procedures, codes of practice and all legislative and regulatory requirements including RQIA and Supporting People standards at all times.

Qualifications / Experience:

Essential:
Working knowledge, personal knowledge and or voluntary knowledge in the care/support field.
Knowledge of ASC, communication difficulties and resulting behaviour that challenges.
Excellent communication skills
Flexibility in relation to needs of the duty rota, available to work mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and sleep ins.
Full UK driving licence and access to a car or can demonstrate mobility to carry out the functions of the job

Desirable:
Health Care qualification, or equivalent, or working towards it (i.e NVQ/QCF).
Entry Level or GCSEs to include Maths and English at grades D or above or equivalent. Alternatively, degree, or equivalent and or professional related qualification will be accepted.
NISCC registered or working towards this.
Knowledge of systems to promote effective communication.
