Job Duties:

Drive HGV vehicles including deputising for refuse, sweeper, skip lorry, hook lift and any other vehicle drivers as required. Offload contents of vehicle in accordance with procedures in place at the relevant facilities. Maintain a positive image of the Council by ensuring that personal appearance and conduct is of a high standard at all times. Retain knowledge on the operation of brown bin and kerbside recyclable collection services. Ensure safety and security of the vehicle and fully complete checks each morning. Help resolve complaints. Work as part of a team. Wash vehicle thoroughly each week. Report any defects or damage to the vehicle. Report all accidents. Implement appropriate procedures to control and contain environmental impact of activities. Remain observant at all times. Contribute to continuous improvement of Council services by reporting to the Operations Supervisor. Have due regard for personal health and safety, and the safety of colleagues and general public.

Qualifications / Experience:

Essential Criteria:
Must hold a current driving licence category C.
A current valid CPC card.
Must have experience in the following:
-Driving a six or eight wheeled lorry.
-Operating mechanical lifting equipment/hoist/hook lift.
-Dealing with members of the public in a customer service capacity.
-Completing accurate records of scheduled and completed work.
Good communication skills.
Health and Safety focused.
Have the ability to work:
-Within established procedures and guidelines.
-As part of a team.
-On own initiative.
-Follow clear instructions.

Other Information:
