Job Duties:

Quantity Surveyor - Facilities Management Service, Armagh.

The post holders will be responsible to the Head of Facilities Management or their nominated officer for providing a professional quantity surveying service for the Education Authority minor capital and maintenance works programmes. This will include the management of capital and revenue projects/contracts, providing estimates of costs, advising other sections on contract procedures, managing external consultants, authorising payments to contractors and negotiating fees with external consultants.

Qualifications / Experience:

Essential Criteria:
Applicants must be a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 3 years' corporate membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
3 years' experience of working as a Quantity Surveyor in a professional office or as a Project Quantity Surveyor.
Experience of New Engineering Contract (NEC3) administration.
Experience of financial and project management.
Knowledge of e Tendering processes.
Knowledge of preparation and administration of PQQ and ITT procurement processes.
Knowledge of Term Service Contracts or equivalent.
Budget preparation and management.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent reporting skills.
Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Ability to work under pressure and achieve target deadlines.
Be flexible and self-motivated.
