Job Duties:

The post holders will be required to assist with the co-ordination and organisation of the programme of activities and care for the young people attending the Scheme. This will include attending to the young people's personal needs and ensuring their safety and wellbeing whilst adhering to Council policies and procedures.
Administer medication in accordance with Trust guidelines and the Medication log.
Keep the Leader informed of medical considerations/difficulties of each person, accidents and other incidents.
Accompany young people during the Scheme on private transport as required.
Any other relevant duties that may be required to fulfil the overall purpose and function of the post.

Qualifications / Experience:

Essential Criteria:
Currently undertaking or have completed: Teacher training or other relevant third level qualification eg. sports, leisure, arts, youth work
NVQ level 2 or equivalent in a relevant subject eg. Childcare, Teaching / Classroom Assistant;
Experience of working with young people between the ages of 7-17 years;
Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to assist with co-ordination and organisation of the programme.

Desirable Criteria:
Experience of working with people with a disability including toileting and changing;
Experience of working on an activity programme for young people and for young people with a disability;
Ability to work within established procedures and guidelines;
Customer focused;
High level of commitment towards the job.
